I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10 late last year, and since then have been busy producing copies of a mildly modified live CD for other students who really love what I did!
Well, It's time for a new ubuntu CD, or well, lots of em! One of them, will be a recovery CD. After testing the options, I'll be including Gparted, Testdisk and Photorec, Hardinfo, and a wide assortment of other tools. Also, I'll try my hand at simple scripting.
The result will be a lightweight, yet pretty, recovery CD. You will have the option of XFCE, GNOME?, and maybe ICE. Why? Well, yes, they may take a DVD at the end of the day, but it will be worth it to have a CD that lets you choose depending on your hardware!
For running windows applications, I'll also include the latest version of wine, as well as the otption to update it on the CD (when it's live that is!) (I've tried that before and it works!)
